CTRL-ALT-P is no longer working with the new version of the software. How do I access PrivacyView?

CTRL-ALT-P is not supported under Windows Vista. We are looking for a solution but for now, you can type PVIEW at the Run Command line.

When accessing a movie in PrivacyView, it is very slow to start and requires me to click the movie name multiple times. Is there something wrong with my system?

No, you want to go to the File Manager settings screen and turn off View Movie Thumbnails. This will increase the speed of viewing your movies.

I’ve downloaded and installed PrivacyView software but now I can’t find it anywhere.  Where did it go?

For your protection, and total discretion, as soon as PrivacyView software is installed, it promptly goes into stealth mode and hides itself.

To activate PrivacyView software in Windows XP, hold down the key combination CTRL-ALT-P to immediately access the program and start viewing files and surfing the web with privacy.

To activate PrivacyView software in Windows Vista, go to the Run command line and type PVIEW to access the software. We are working on a CTRL-ALT-P solution for Vista.

Why does it sometimes seem to take awhile when I load PrivacyView software?

Startup speed usually depends upon the volume of private movies and private pics in your secured folders.  For your convenience, PrivacyView software decrypts all your files on startup to minimize wait time and allow you to instantly access all your stored private movies and private pics within the PrivacyView program.

When I open PrivacyView software all I see are garbage files with strange file names.  Where did my private movies and private pics go? Should I trash all these files?

Do not erase anything. It is possible that PrivacyView software has been interrupted by another process on your computer. What you are seeing are your private movies and private pics encrypted by PrivacyView. Simply close and restart the program.  Your stored files and websites will be returned back to normal.

While using PrivacyView software, I walked away from my computer. When I returned it had turned itself off.  Why?

For an additional layer of protection, if PrivacyView software is idle for 10-20 minutes, it safely closes itself to hide any files that might inadvertently be displayed on the screen.  Similarly if you need to quickly close PrivacyView software, there is a built-in hot key to instantly secure the program and your files.

What happens if there is a power failure or my system crashes while I’m using the software, are my files still secure?

Yes.  PrivacyView software constantly checks itself on reboots, power loss and even if your system is taken down by a malicious virus.  Once you reboot the system, PrivacyView software cleans itself.  It is possible in some instances that you will have to manually start the software and immediately exit to force a clean up.

If I decide to uninstall PrivacyView software, how do I make sure I don’t lose my files?

Before you uninstall the program, copy all your private movies and private pics to another directory.  To maintain security, once you uninstall PrivacyView software all items in your secured directories are completely erased from your hard drive.  If you are using the demonstration version of PrivacyView, make sure you copy all your files before your trial period ends or you will lose all your private movies and private pics unless you purchase the software.

Why isn't PrivacyView software listed in the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel?

Because PrivacyView software was designed to protect your internet and computer privacy and runs in stealth mode, the software is not listed in the Add/Remove Programs. This way, if anyone looks in the Add/Remove programs, they will not see PrivacyView as an installed program. If you want to uninstall the application, go to the Help drop down menu within the software and select Support - Uninstall.

Why don't I see the Private Download option when I'm trying to download private movies or private pics from the Internet?

Within Internet Explorer there is an option that needs to be enabled for you to see the Private Download menu option.  You want to select Tools - Internet Options from the drop-down menu then select the Advanced Tab.  Under Browsing there is an option called “Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)“ that you need to enable.
