General questions

How does PrivacyView protect my files from prying eyes?

PrivacyView software uses state-of-the-art encryption and software integration to ensure your private files stay private. Not only does PrivacyView software protect your private movies and private pics, it also protects the files you download from the Internet. PrivacyView software is tightly integrated with Internet Explorer and allows you to surf the Internet in a secure mode when activated. You can download private movies and private pics directly into PrivacyView's protected folders for later viewing or cataloging.

Can't someone search to find my files even if they are protected by PrivacyView software?

A regular search will not work because PrivacyView software not only encrypts the file but also encrypts the file name. This prevents anyone from knowing anything about the file even if they do manage to find it.

PrivacyView software asks me to create a password when I first run it.  Will I need this password every time I use the software?

Yes. To ensure your files remain secure, PrivacyView software has added an extra level of security beyond encrypting and concealing files. Even if someone else launches PrivacyView software, they cannot view or access any of your private movies or private pics without your unique password.  It is imperative to choose a password you will remember and not lose it.  PrivacyView software cannot retrieve lost passwords for you. If you forget your password there is NO method available to recover your secured files.

This looks like it is an Adult Web Browser or a Porn Browser. Can't I just use it to keep my Internet browsing separate from the rest of my family?

PrivacyView was designed initially with the thought of protecting those that surf for adult content but it has grown and expanded to do more for the user. Some still classify PrivacyView with other adult web browsers or porn browsers but it can definitely be used for every day use.

What are the system requirements for PrivacyView?

To get started with PrivacyView you need: Windows XP, 233 MHz Pentium or higher, 40 MB of available hard disk space, Internet access. Minimum system RAM: 128MB.

Do I still need to run adware software on my computer?

Yes, you should run your anti-virus software with PrivacyView launched in order for the anti-virus software to recognize the un-encrypted files. Does PrivacyView software contain everything I need to view all my photos, websites, and movies?

While PrivacyView has incorporated a built-in image viewer and web browser, it does not contain every possible program launch variation (i.e. movie viewer).  To view files, such as a private movie, PrivacyView software launches those programs from outside the security of its folder.

Do I still need an anti-virus or anti-spyware software after I install PrivacyView?

While PrivacyView makes your personal files private it does not protect your computer against viruses.  If you need a secure firewall, we would recommend ZoneAlarm Pro.

Can PrivacyView help protect against identity theft?

PrivacyView will mainly protect your personal files from being accessed from any intruder as well as hiding your browsing history. Identity theft happens when your most sensitive personal and financial information is stolen by identity thieves who assume your identity and commit crimes in your name. To protect you against identity theft we recommend using IDENTITY GUARD®
